Humboldt Park's Summer Festival Season Is Just Warming Up — Sangria Fest Is Headed to the West Side

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

Humboldt Park neighbors have another reason to circle their calendars this summer: the Sangria Festival Chicago is officially coming to the neighborhood on August 15–16, adding yet another can't-miss community celebration to what's already shaping up to be one of the West Side's biggest summers in years. The festival joins a growing list of cultural events anchoring the park's green spaces this season.

While the countdown to Sangria Fest is on, there's plenty keeping neighbors busy right now. The Chicago Park District's summer programming at the historic Humboldt Park fieldhouse is running strong, with afternoon sessions from 3:30–5:45 p.m. and evening programs from 6–7:45 p.m. Monday through Friday through early August — giving kids and families structured, fun options all week long. And just steps away at the landmark former stables near Paseo Boricua, the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture — the only museum in the nation entirely dedicated to Puerto Rican arts and culture — continues to welcome visitors as a crown jewel of the neighborhood's rich cultural identity.

From summer park programs to world-class cultural institutions and a festival season that keeps growing, Humboldt Park is proving it's the place to be on the West Side this summer. Check chicagoparkdistrict.com for current program schedules, plan your visit to the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, and keep Sangria Festival weekend — August 15–16 — locked in on your calendar.
