From Pop-Ups to Permanent: Paper Bunny Press Puts Down Roots on Damen Avenue

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Ravenswood ·

Ravenswood just got a little more whimsical — and a lot more fun to browse. Paper Bunny Press, the beloved stationery brand known for its "surprisingly snarky" greeting cards, stickers, and planners, has officially opened its first-ever brick-and-mortar storefront at 4956 N. Damen Ave., just steps from Winnemac Park. Owner Samantha Rekas spent nearly four years building her following through pop-up markets across the city — including neighborhood staples like Apple Fest and Renegade Craft — before finally landing a permanent home right here in Ravenswood.

The cozy shop is stocked with an affordable, carefully curated mix of goods — from greeting cards and notepads to magnets and calendars — all either designed by Rekas herself or sourced from artists she personally champions. True to her community-first spirit, she's kept prices intentionally accessible, with nothing planned to exceed $50. And she's already looking ahead: Rekas hopes to host creative workshops in the space, including junk journaling, candle making, and bookbinding sessions that promise to make the shop a true neighborhood creative hub.

Paper Bunny Press is exactly the kind of local gem that makes Ravenswood's retail scene so special — independent, imaginative, and deeply rooted in community. Stop in and show some love to one of the neighborhood's newest neighbors, and keep an eye on ravenswoodchicago.org for more on what's blooming along Damen this summer!
