Fall Is Calling: Jefferson Memorial Park's New Season Programming Just Opened for Registration — Here's What's Coming
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Jefferson Park ·
Jefferson Park neighbors, summer isn't over yet — but the Chicago Park District is already thinking ahead, and what's lined up for fall at Jefferson Memorial Park has us excited. As of August 3, 2026, online registration officially opened for the park's autumn programming season, with in-person registration following shortly after. If you've been waiting for the right moment to plug yourself or your family into one of the Northwest Side's most beloved green spaces, that moment is right now.
Jefferson Memorial Park, situated at Long and Higgins Avenues in the heart of the community, is far more than a patch of grass — it's a true neighborhood anchor. The 7.96-acre park is packed with amenities, including two baseball fields, a combination football and soccer field, three tennis courts, an outdoor volleyball court, a playground, a water spray feature, and an outdoor swimming pool with dressing facilities. Fall programming picks up September 8 and runs through December 13, meaning there are months of community connection ahead. The park is also home to the beloved all-volunteer Citywide Orchestra, which performs seasonal concerts for residents, while youth music lessons in piano, violin, and voice remain available throughout the season.
Whether you're a longtime Jefferson Park regular or a newer neighbor still getting your bearings, fall programming at Jefferson Memorial Park is one of the easiest ways to put down roots and meet the community around you. Head to ChicagoParkDistrict.com to register today — and follow the Jefferson Memorial Park Advisory Council at jmpac.org for the latest updates on events and concerts still to come this season!
