Community Champions, Nighttime Blooms & Patio Pups: Lincoln Park Is Celebrating Its Own This August

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·

Lincoln Park has never been short on community spirit — but this month, that spirit is getting some well-deserved recognition. The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce has named its 2026 Neighborhood Champion Honorees, and the picks couldn't feel more fitting: Edda Coscioni, the owner and lead stylist behind beloved neighborhood salon Salon Edda, and Range Chicago, the seasonally driven restaurant that has anchored the neighborhood since 2013. Range Chicago, in particular, has made generosity a cornerstone of its identity — the restaurant has hosted monthly Community Nights since 2015, donating a portion of sales to local nonprofits including Nourishing Hope, Common Pantry, and Lincoln Park Community Services. Together, these honorees are a reminder that the neighborhood's best institutions are built on far more than great products and services.

And the good times keep coming on the events front. Nature lovers will want to mark their calendars for Lincoln Park Conservatory After Dark on October 22 at 2391 N. Stockton — a magical evening inside one of the city's most breathtaking green spaces. Before that, dog owners get their moment in the sun (well, the patio): a Dog Friendly Patio Party at Ox Bar & Hearth, 1578 N. Clybourn, is set for August 29 at 4:00 PM — a perfect end-of-summer outing for four-legged neighbors and their humans alike. And for the hands-on crowd, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum at 2430 N. Cannon is rolling out a series of one-of-a-kind workshops this fall, including Monarch Butterfly & Chrysalis Vial Making and an Insect Pinning: Tarantula or Scorpion session — quirky, educational, and completely Lincoln Park.

From championing local legends to sipping cocktails among tropical plants to letting your dog steal the show on a patio, Lincoln Park's community calendar is packed with reasons to get out and connect. Which event has you most excited? Let your neighbors know on Socialhood!
