Spooky Vintage Market and Arts Weekend Headline Andersonville's Vibrant October Scene
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Andersonville residents have two major community events to look forward to this weekend as the neighborhood showcases its creative and festive spirit during the peak of autumn.
The 5th annual Andersonville Vintage Market returns this Sunday, October 19th with a special Halloween twist. Ghosts and ghouls have taken over the market at 1500 W. Winona, where shoppers can browse eerie treasures and compete for prizes in the costume contest. More than 30 vendors will offer antiques, home décor, and unique collectibles from 10am to 4pm.
Meanwhile, the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce presents its 21st annual Arts Weekend from Friday through Sunday (October 3-5), transforming the neighborhood into a "walkable art gallery." The weekend kicks off with a Night of Parties on Friday evening, featuring hosted events throughout the area where many businesses will hold "meet and greets" with their featured artists. The weekend concludes with the popular Fall Wine Walk on Sunday, which transforms local businesses into charming wine-tasting destinations from 2-5pm.
In restaurant news, Parson's Chicken & Fish will close its Andersonville location at 5721 N. Clark St. on October 19th after more than four years in the neighborhood. The restaurant, known for its fried chicken and Negroni slushies, has sold the business to a yet-unnamed buyer. Residents are encouraged to visit before the closing date to say goodbye to this neighborhood favorite.
