Palmer Square's Musical Legacy Continues with Final Concert Series of 2025
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Palmer Square ·
The Palmer Square Park Advisory Council is concluding its 2025 season of 'Live on Logan' music performances, bringing world-class musicians to the recently designated arboretum. The popular summer concert series, which has been running since July, features free performances on Sundays from 1-3 PM at Palmer Square Park.
This season's lineup has showcased diverse musical talent including Eric Hines and Pan Dulce, Ernest Dawkins, Alyssa Allgood, Joe Policastro Trio, Nicholas Barron and The Galaxy 5, Electric Forecast, Bonzo Squad, and Marcel Bofim's Brazilian Funkeria. The concerts come just weeks before the Logan Square Preservation's 35th Biennial House Walk on September 20, which will feature Palmer Square's historical homes and architecturally significant buildings, including the Erickson House built in 1908. The preservation walk will also showcase a new housing project by Logan Square design firm Via Chicago Architects, who are rehabilitating a landmark two-flat to increase apartment availability in the neighborhood.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the final musical performances while experiencing Palmer Square Park's newly labeled tree collection, which earned Chicago's first arboretum designation last month. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, and join neighbors for these community gatherings that celebrate both cultural heritage and environmental preservation in one of Logan Square's most beloved green spaces.
