West Pullman Community to Welcome New Hotel Development Near Pullman National Monument
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Pullman ·
A significant economic boost is coming to Chicago's Far South Side as Pullman Hotel Group LLC moves forward with plans for a new 100-key hotel at 11030 S. Doty Ave. East. Mayor Brandon Johnson recently proposed a $2.9 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) grant to support the $30.9 million project that will replace 2.6 acres of vacant land. The development aims to accommodate visitors to the Pullman National Monument, Pullman Community Center, and the Pullman Park mixed-use campus.
Once completed, the hotel project is expected to create 25 permanent jobs for area residents, with TIF funding provided through the North Pullman and Lake Calumet Area Industrial TIF district. The development represents another step in the ongoing revitalization efforts for the West Pullman area, which has seen increasing investment in recent years. The project joins several other development initiatives in the greater South Side area, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026.
Community residents interested in learning more about the hotel project and potential employment opportunities can attend the upcoming West Pullman Community Association meeting on Monday at the Woodson Regional Library. Representatives from the Pullman Hotel Group will be present to answer questions and discuss how the development will benefit local businesses and create additional economic opportunities for the neighborhood.
