Andersonville Gears Up for Spooktacular 'Aville-o-ween' This Weekend
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Andersonville residents are preparing for a festive Halloween celebration as the annual Aville-o-ween returns this Saturday, October 25, from 12-3pm. The family-friendly event invites children to trick-or-treat at local businesses along Catalpa Street, continuing a beloved neighborhood tradition.
This year's celebration features an expanded lineup of activities centered around Halloween on Catalpa from 11am-4pm at 1500 W. Catalpa (between Clark St. & Ashland Ave.). Families can enjoy Halloween treats, interactive games, entertainment, and costume contests throughout the day. More than 50 businesses throughout the Andersonville district will be handing out candy and other treats, making this one of the neighborhood's most anticipated autumn events.
Residents and visitors should also keep an eye out for the ongoing Punkin' Scavenger Hunt, where decorative pumpkins are hidden in planters along Clark Street. Each pumpkin features a letter that, when all are found and unscrambled, spells a festive Swedish word for a special prize. For a complete list of participating businesses and more information about all Andersonville Halloween activities, visit the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce website or stop by their office at 1554 W. Hollywood.
