Rogers Park Celebrates First-Ever Community Día de los Muertos in Camino Clark District
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Rogers Park ·
The Rogers Park Business Alliance is hosting the neighborhood's first-ever community celebration of Día de los Muertos on November 1-2, 2025. The two-day event will take place within the vibrant Mexican Cultural District, Camino Clark, which stretches along Clark Street from Howard Street to Devon Avenue.
The centerpiece of the celebration will be a community altar displaying photos contributed by neighborhood residents to honor their passed loved ones. Local businesses along Camino Clark will participate by offering Día de los Muertos specials throughout the weekend. The holiday traditionally honors deceased family members with ofrendas—altars decorated with photos, memories, and offerings. Neighbors are invited to contribute to the community altar by bringing copies of loved ones' photos to the GROW/PROGRESANDO Center at 7056 N. Clark Street.
Residents interested in participating or learning more about the celebration can find additional details on the Rogers Park Business Alliance website at RPBA.org. The event represents a significant cultural milestone for Rogers Park's growing Mexican community and offers an opportunity for neighbors of all backgrounds to come together in a meaningful celebration of remembrance and cultural heritage.
