Aldi Grocery Store Coming to South Loop's Roosevelt Collection in 2026

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/South Loop ·

South Loop residents will soon have a new grocery option as discount retailer Aldi plans to open a location at Roosevelt Collection Shops. A city permit was recently filed for the Batavia-based chain to retrofit an existing storefront at 150 W. Roosevelt Road, with Aldi Regional Vice President Heather McCarthy confirming the store is expected to open next year.

The grocery store will join 18 other retailers at Roosevelt Collection Shops, including Old Navy, Lens Crafters and the recently opened AMC Theatre. Work has already begun on the empty storefront where Aldi will be located. The grocer currently operates 32 locations throughout Chicago and is known for its grand opening celebrations that include gift bags with Aldi "fan favorites" and gift cards for early customers.

This new location marks a significant addition to the South Loop's retail landscape and continues Aldi's Chicago expansion, which also includes upcoming stores in River North and the West Loop. South Loop residents interested in learning more about construction progress or opening dates can check Roosevelt Collection Shops' website for updates or follow Aldi's social media channels for official announcements.
