Archer Heights Library Launches Free Technology Education Classes for Residents
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·
Archer Heights residents now have a new opportunity to enhance their digital skills through a series of free technology education classes at the Chicago Public Library's Archer Heights Branch. The initiative, launched in late October 2025, aims to help community members learn essential computer skills, internet navigation, email usage, and how to avoid online scams.
The library, located at 5055 S Archer Avenue, is offering these classes as part of its commitment to bridging the digital divide in the neighborhood. "Want to learn more about the technology around us? Need help with digital tasks? Take these classes to learn about computers, internet, email, online scams, job searching, and more," announced a library representative. The classes coincide with the city's ongoing "Moving Archer Forward" initiative, which has been collecting community feedback throughout summer 2025 to guide planning for improvements along the Archer Avenue corridor.
Residents interested in participating can visit the Archer Heights Branch or call (312) 747-9241 to register for upcoming sessions. The library also continues to offer homework help for students through its Teacher in the Library program, with sessions available in both English and Spanish on Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
