Hull House Museum Unveils New Interactive Exhibition Celebrating University Village's Cultural Heritage

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/University Village Little Italy ·

The Jane Addams Hull House Museum in University Village Little Italy has launched an innovative interactive exhibition showcasing the neighborhood's rich immigrant history. Opening just last week, the exhibition features previously unseen artifacts and a digital storytelling component that allows visitors to contribute their own family narratives to the neighborhood's collective memory.

The museum, which occupies the last remaining building of what was once a larger settlement house complex, continues to be a cultural cornerstone of the community. Currently offering free admission with welcomed donations, the museum is open daily except Mondays and Saturdays. The first floor features exhibits on the history of Hull House, including a scale model of the original complex along with keys to all the buildings and other artifacts that tell the story of this important community center.

Community members are encouraged to visit the new exhibition this weekend and share their experiences on social media using #UVLICulturalHeritage. The museum is also hosting a series of related weekend workshops where residents can learn traditional crafts practiced by the various immigrant communities that have shaped University Village Little Italy over generations.
