By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near North ·

Near North residents and visitors now have a spectacular new cultural destination as the Chicago Architecture Biennial opened its fifth exhibition site at 840 North Michigan Avenue on November 7. The 65,000-square-foot space spans four floors on one of Chicago's most iconic intersections and has been transformed to showcase more than thirty installations from architects, artists, and studios from around the world.

This opening marks a major moment in the Biennial's tenth anniversary edition, themed 'SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change.' The exhibition is completely free and open to the public, offering Near North locals a convenient opportunity to engage with cutting-edge architectural ideas and installations. The Michigan Avenue location joins four other Biennial sites across the city, making this the most expansive edition of the internationally renowned event.

Near North art enthusiasts can also look forward to Hunter, a new 50-seat seafood and wine bar opening in November, featuring a polished yet playful menu highlighting Midwest ingredients. The restaurant will offer seafood-centric courses including dressed oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp with barbecue sauce, and smoked whitefish gumbo, adding to the neighborhood's vibrant dining scene. Residents are encouraged to visit the new Biennial exhibition and support the area's growing cultural and culinary offerings.
