Wright College Humboldt Park Launches Winter Lifeguard Recruitment Drive for Summer 2026

Humboldt Park residents looking for summer employment opportunities can get a head start this November as the Chicago Park District kicks off its winter lifeguard recruitment campaign. On Friday, November 21, the Humboldt Park field house will host the Lifeguard Skills Swim Test, offering community members the chance to secure positions well ahead of the summer rush.

The initiative, announced through the official Humboldt Park Facebook page, aims to address the perennial shortage of qualified lifeguards while providing valuable employment opportunities for local residents. The Chicago Park District, which owns and operates the facilities within the 219-acre Humboldt Park, has prioritized early recruitment to ensure adequate staffing for the park's popular inland beach and aquatic programs. Meanwhile, the Wright College Humboldt Park Vocational Center continues to expand its educational offerings with specialized training programs, including the Renewable Energy Industry Photovoltaic System Fundamentals course in partnership with the IL-IBEW Renewable Energy Fund.

Interested candidates should arrive at the Humboldt Park field house on November 21 prepared for the swim assessment.
