Andersonville Leads Citywide 'Chicago Loves Local' Campaign to Boost Small Businesses

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·

Andersonville is spearheading a new initiative to support small businesses across Chicago this holiday season. The 'Chicago Loves Local: 77 Reasons To Shop Small' campaign, launched earlier this week, aims to encourage residents to shop at local stores throughout all 77 community areas in the city.

The initiative is organized by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Rogers Park Business Alliance, the Illinois Coalition on Immigrant and Refugee Rights, and the Chicago Is With You Task Force. Laura Austin, executive director of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the campaign's goal is to bring people together: "We wanted to make it easier for organizations across the city to share resources, promote their districts and celebrate the incredible small businesses that make Chicago what it is." The campaign will spotlight small businesses on Instagram and encourage residents to share posts about shopping locally and leave positive reviews.

Residents can participate by exploring local businesses like Ándale Market at 5232 N. Clark St., a New York City-style bodega specializing in unique and locally sourced products. With Small Business Saturday approaching on November 29, Andersonville—known as the "Shop Local Capital of Chicago"—continues to demonstrate leadership in supporting independent businesses. Neighbors are encouraged to check out the campaign on social media and plan their holiday shopping to support local entrepreneurs throughout the city.
