2 Million Health Hub and Job Training Center Coming to Humboldt Park's North Avenue

Humboldt Park residents will soon benefit from a comprehensive health and workforce development center, as ASI Health unveiled detailed plans for their new five-story facility at 3446 West North Avenue. The

2 million project, revealed this week through documents shared with local officials, aims to transform a vacant lot into a vital community resource combining healthcare services and career training opportunities.

The innovative center will offer senior care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health services, along with memory care for individuals with cognitive diseases. A significant portion of the facility will be dedicated to bilingual workforce training programs focused on high-demand fields including healthcare, technology, and green careers. "Our proposal aims to bring together health care, behavioral health, job training and community support under one roof—creating a one-stop hub designed to help residents get well and stay healthy, build skills, and access economic opportunity close to home," said ASI Health's CEO in a statement released this week.

The project has already received positive feedback from community members during recent meetings hosted by Alderperson Jessie Fuentes. ASI Health, which has provided home care services and employment programs since 1975 with a focus on Latino and Black communities, is currently in the process of acquiring the land and pursuing necessary zoning changes. Residents interested in learning more about the development or potential employment opportunities can contact ASI Health or attend upcoming community meetings as the project advances.
