ASI Health Unveils Plans for 2 Million Health Hub and Job Training Center in Humboldt ParkBy Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·
Humboldt Park residents will soon benefit from a comprehensive health and workforce development center, as ASI Health has shared detailed plans for their new five-story facility at 3446 West North Avenue. The company, which has provided home care services and employment training programs since 1975 with a focus on Latino and Black communities, is looking to invest in Humboldt Park with a "whole person care" model that links health and workforce outcomes.
"Our proposal for a new Health and Workforce Development Center aims to bring together health care, behavioral health, job training and community support under one roof—creating a one-stop hub designed to help residents get well and stay healthy, build skills, and access economic opportunity close to home," said ASI Health CEO Carmen Cerda in a statement this week. According to Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, who held a community meeting on the proposal last month, "The project aims to expand access to workforce training, community health resources and much more." The development has received favorable feedback from residents, with ASI Health committed to incorporating community input, particularly around parking solutions and transportation access. The company is collaborating with several local organizations including the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, Humboldt Park Health, Illinois Unidos, and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to ensure the facility meets neighborhood needs. The
2 million development will focus primarily on healthcare, offering senior care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health services, as well as memory care for individuals with cognitive diseases. Additionally, the facility will provide space for bilingual workforce training in health, technology, and green careers. ASI Health is currently in the final stages of acquiring the land and pursuing necessary zoning changes, with potential City Council zoning committee review as early as January.Sources:
