Wrigleyville Bars Unveil Festive Holiday Makeovers as 'Wonderland' Season Kicks Off
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wrigleyville ·
Wrigleyville's vibrant bar scene is getting a festive overhaul as several establishments have unveiled their holiday-themed transformations for the 2025 season. The neighborhood-wide 'Wrigleyville Wonderland' initiative kicked off in mid-November, bringing seasonal cheer to the area beyond the returning Christkindlmarket.
The iconic Cubby Bear has transformed into 'The Polar Bear' with winter-themed décor, while Country Club has become 'Christmas Club,' featuring three distinct rooms, three lively bars, and festive decorations throughout its two-story space. Meanwhile, Merkle's Bar & Grill is celebrating 'The Nutcracker' with twinkling lights, oversized nutcracker figurines, and cocktails inspired by the classic ballet. Underground Lounge has reimagined itself as 'The Island of Misfit Toys,' and Happy Camper is offering themed drinks like the Polar Espresso Martini and Dough Ho Ho Old Fashioned as part of its 'Happy Alcoholidays' transformation.
The seasonal makeovers complement the return of Christkindlmarket to Gallagher Way, which opens November 23 after last year's hiatus due to the NHL Winter Classic. Wrigleyville residents and visitors are encouraged to make a day of exploring the various holiday-themed venues, which feature special events and themed menus through December. Most venues offer no cover charge, making these festive experiences accessible to everyone looking to celebrate the holiday season in one of Chicago's most energetic neighborhoods.
