Humboldt Park's Puerto Rican Museum to Host Holiday Artisan Market in December

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

Humboldt Park residents looking to support local artists while checking off holiday shopping lists will have a special opportunity next month. The National Puerto Rican Museum of Arts & Culture will host the 'Navi•Arts en el Barrio' Puerto Rican Artisan Market on December 6-7 and 13-14, bringing authentic cultural crafts and artwork to the neighborhood.

The market will feature a variety of local artisans and vendors offering giftable items including greeting cards, jewelry, ceramic decor, stuffed toys, books, puzzles, and other handmade creations by local artists. This event adds to the museum's growing calendar of community activities, following its successful 25th anniversary celebrations earlier this fall that included the completion of a new garden and community space in September. The upcoming glass atrium project for the museum's courtyard, recently approved as part of TIF funding for Humboldt Park improvements, will create even more space for future community markets and cultural events.

Residents interested in attending the Puerto Rican Artisan Market can visit the National Puerto Rican Museum at 3015 W. Division St. during the two December weekends. The market presents a perfect opportunity to find unique, culturally significant gifts while supporting local Puerto Rican artists and the continued cultural vitality of Humboldt Park.
