Near North residents and visitors can kick off the holiday season in style this Saturday, November 22, as the Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival returns to transform Michigan Avenue into a dazzling winter wonderland. The beloved annual event, taking place in the heart of Near North's iconic shopping district, promises a magical evening parade featuring illuminated floats, marching bands, and seasonal performances.

This year's festival will begin at Pioneer Court (401 North Michigan Avenue) with family-friendly activities throughout the day before the parade steps off in the evening. Near North shoppers can also enjoy the newly opened Millennium Park Holiday Market just steps away from the city's recently lit 112th Annual Christmas Tree. The market features local artisans, live entertainment, and seasonal food and beverages, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the district.

Residents looking to make the most of the celebration are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots along the parade route and explore the area's shops and restaurants, many of which will offer special promotions for the occasion. The Magnificent Mile Association recommends using public transportation, as street closures will be in effect throughout much of the Near North area during this signature neighborhood event.
