West Pullman Welcomes New 100-Key Hotel Project as City Council Approves $2.9 Million TIF Grant
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Pullman ·
West Pullman residents have a major development to celebrate as City Council recently approved a $2.9 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) grant to support a new hotel project at 11030 S. Doty Ave. East. The 100-key hotel, developed by Pullman Hotel Group LLC, will transform 2.6 acres of vacant land into a vibrant hospitality destination for visitors to the Pullman National Monument, Pullman Community Center, and the Pullman Park mixed-use campus.
The $30.9 million development represents a significant investment in Chicago's Far South Side, with the project expected to create 25 permanent jobs once completed. Funding will be provided through the North Pullman and Lake Calumet Area Industrial TIF district, helping to advance economic growth in an area that has seen increased tourism since the Pullman National Monument designation. This project adds to other positive developments in the area, including the Far South Community Development Corporation's ambitious plans to revitalize the commercial corridor at 115th and Halsted streets.
Community members interested in learning more about the hotel development and its economic impact can attend the upcoming West Pullman Neighborhood Association meeting scheduled for next weekend, where representatives will discuss construction timelines and employment opportunities for local residents.
