Galewood Neighbors Launches First Indoor Winter Farmers Market at Trinity Church
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Galewood ·
Galewood residents will soon have a new way to access fresh, local food during the winter months as Galewood Neighbors, Inc. announces the launch of the neighborhood's first-ever Indoor Winter Farmers Market. The market, set to debut on December 6 at Trinity Galewood Church, will bring together local food producers, artisans, and community members every first Saturday of the month through March 2026.
The initiative builds on Chicago's growing winter farmers market scene, with Galewood joining other neighborhoods in offering year-round access to fresh produce and handcrafted items. "We're excited to create this winter gathering space that supports local producers while providing healthy food options for our community," shared Beth Wilson, program coordinator at Galewood Neighbors. The market will feature seasonal produce from area farms, artisanal baked goods, handcrafted gifts, and hot prepared foods, with a special emphasis on vendors from Galewood and nearby neighborhoods.
Residents interested in supporting this new community initiative as vendors or volunteers can contact Galewood Neighbors via their website. The inaugural market on December 6 will include family-friendly activities, live music, and a winter coat drive to support local families, further strengthening Galewood's reputation as a close-knit, supportive neighborhood community.
