Andersonville Spearheads 'Chicago Loves Local' Campaign Uniting All 77 Neighborhoods
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Andersonville businesses are taking the lead in a groundbreaking citywide initiative aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs across Chicago this holiday season. The 'Chicago Loves Local: 77 Reasons To Shop Small' campaign, launched this month ahead of Small Business Saturday on November 29, encourages residents to explore independent businesses throughout all 77 Chicago community areas.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce and several partner organizations including the Rogers Park Business Alliance, the Illinois Coalition on Immigrant and Refugee Rights, and the Chicago Is With You Task Force. "We wanted to make it easier for organizations across the city to share resources, promote their districts and celebrate the incredible small businesses that make Chicago what it is," explains Laura Austin, executive director of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. The campaign features business spotlights across social media and an interactive citywide map showcasing unique shops, restaurants, and service providers defining each neighborhood's character.
Inspired by Albany Park's successful Shop Small Wednesdays campaign, the initiative aims to connect residents across Chicago through their shared love of small businesses. Andersonville residents can participate by exploring featured local businesses, sharing posts about their favorite shops, and leaving positive reviews. As Small Business Saturday approaches, consider exploring both familiar favorites and discovering new treasures throughout the city's diverse neighborhoods.
