Chicago's architectural excellence is once again in the spotlight as the Humboldt Park Wellness Center has been honored with a 2025 Lerch Bates People's Choice Award. The prestigious recognition, announced by AIA Chicago and the Chicago Architecture Center, celebrates the wellness center as one of the community-driven gems reshaping Chicago's neighborhoods.

The three-story health facility, which opened earlier this year, represents a significant investment in community wellness for Humboldt Park residents. The state-of-the-art center features comprehensive amenities designed to address health disparities in the neighborhood while providing a beautiful architectural landmark that enhances the community landscape. This award comes as Humboldt Park prepares for

3.1 million in additional investments across its 207 acres, including renovations to the field house with new function rooms, accessibility improvements, rehabilitation of tennis courts and standalone restrooms, and an extensive overhaul of the existing pool house. The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture will also gain a new gallery under a glass atrium, further enhancing cultural offerings in the neighborhood.
