West Pullman Celebrates Final Approval of $30 Million Hampton Hotel as Construction Set for Early 2026
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Pullman ·
West Pullman residents have reason to celebrate as City Council recently approved $2.86 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for the neighborhood's long-awaited Hampton by Hilton hotel project. With this final funding approval secured, construction on the $30 million development is officially set to begin in early 2026.
The 101-room hotel will be the first nationally-branded hotel in the area and is expected to create approximately 25 permanent jobs upon completion. Located at 11030 S. Doty Ave., the four-story facility will cater to visitors of local businesses and tourist attractions, while featuring amenities including space for special events, a business center, exercise room, indoor pool, and on-site parking. The development will transform 2.6 acres of vacant land into a vibrant hospitality destination serving visitors to the Pullman National Monument, Pullman Community Center, and other Far South Side attractions.
Community members interested in learning more about employment opportunities and construction updates can attend the upcoming West Pullman Neighborhood Association meeting on December 15th, where representatives from Pullman Hotel Group will share additional project details and timeline information. The hotel, slated to open in 2027, represents another significant step forward in West Pullman's ongoing revitalization efforts.
