West Pullman Celebrates Final City Council Approval for Hampton Inn as Construction Set for Early 2026

West Pullman residents have reason to celebrate as the Chicago City Council recently approved $2.86 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funding for the Hampton Inn Pullman at 11030 S. Doty Ave. This marks the final approval needed for the long-awaited hotel project planned by Pullman Hotel Group.

The $30 million, 101-room hotel will be the first nationally-branded hotel in the area and is expected to create approximately 25 permanent jobs when it opens. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with completion targeted for mid-2027. "We are one step closer to offering a place for visitors to stay, coming to do business, or coming to play in a tournament or to just spend time with friends and family," said Alderman Anthony Beale (9th). The hotel "will add to the vibrancy of the community and the Lake Calumet Region," he added.

The new Hampton Inn will span 62,000 square feet across four stories, located along Interstate-94 and the Bishop Ford Expressway. The development will feature amenities including a business center, exercise room, indoor pool, and on-site surface parking. "People are coming from all over to visit Pullman with the national park and historic site," Beale noted. "It has become a destination, a place for recreation and a place for people to eat and drink in the community." Residents interested in learning more about employment opportunities can attend upcoming West Pullman Community Association meetings where project representatives will provide updates on construction timelines and hiring plans.
