West Pullman's economic revival continues to gain momentum with the Chicago City Council's recent approval of a $2.9 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) grant for the neighborhood's first nationally-branded hotel. The $30 million Hampton by Hilton development at 11030 S. Doty Ave. East will transform 2.6 acres of vacant land into a vibrant hospitality destination serving visitors to local attractions, including the Pullman National Monument.

"We are one step closer to offering a place for visitors to stay, coming to do business, or coming to play in a tournament or to just spend time with friends and family," said Alderman Anthony Beale (9th). The four-story, 101-room hotel will span 62,000 square feet, featuring amenities including a business center, exercise room, indoor pool, and on-site surface parking. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with completion targeted for mid-2027, creating approximately 25 permanent jobs for area residents.

Community members interested in learning more about employment opportunities or the hotel's impact on local businesses can attend upcoming West Pullman Community Association meetings, where project representatives will share additional details about the development timeline. The hotel joins other transformative projects in the neighborhood, including Habitat for Humanity's 20-unit townhome development, collectively signaling West Pullman's continued revitalization.
