Logan Square's 'Trash People' Set for Final Community Cleanup of 2025
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Logan Square ·
Logan Square residents are rallying for one final neighborhood beautification effort this December as the grassroots collective 'Trash People of Logan Square' prepares for their year-end community cleanup event. The volunteer initiative, which has become a beloved weekend tradition, will gather at a local business on Milwaukee Avenue this Saturday morning, offering neighbors a chance to connect while making a visible impact on their surroundings.
Since launching in 2022, the Trash People collective has organized over 130 neighborhood cleanups across Chicago, with Logan Square events consistently drawing maximum participation. The gatherings typically include social activities, starting at local coffee shops and sometimes culminating with happy hours at neighborhood businesses, emphasizing the group's commitment to community building. This weekend's event serves as the perfect opportunity for residents to contribute to neighborhood beautification before winter weather fully sets in.
Residents interested in participating can register through Eventbrite, though spots typically fill quickly as events are capped at 45 participants. Those unable to join this weekend can follow Trash People on social media for announcements about future cleanups and community initiatives. The volunteer organization will resume regular Saturday morning cleanups in spring 2026, continuing their mission of fostering neighborhood pride while strengthening local connections.
