Galewood Launches First 'Winter Community Harvest' Farmers Market at Trinity Church
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Galewood ·
Galewood residents will now have access to fresh, local produce throughout the winter months with the launch of the neighborhood's first 'Winter Community Harvest' indoor farmers market at Trinity Galewood Church. The market, which debuts on Saturday, December 13, 2025, brings together local food producers, artisans, and community members in a warm, festive environment.
The initiative expands Chicago's growing winter farmers market scene, with Galewood joining other neighborhoods in offering year-round access to fresh produce and handcrafted items. "We're creating this winter gathering space to support local producers while strengthening community bonds during the coldest months," shared Beth Wilson, program coordinator at Galewood Neighbors, the organization behind the initiative. The market will feature seasonal winter produce, artisanal baked goods, handcrafted gifts, and hot prepared foods, with an emphasis on vendors from Galewood and surrounding communities.
Residents interested in supporting this new community initiative as vendors or volunteers can contact Galewood Neighbors through their website. The inaugural market on December 13 will include family-friendly activities, live music from local performers, and a winter coat drive to support neighborhood families in need. The market will continue monthly through March 2026, providing a vibrant gathering space during Chicago's winter season.
