Sweet Charity: Chicago's First-Ever Cookie Market Debuts in Wrigleyville This Sunday

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wrigleyville ·

Wrigleyville is about to get a whole lot sweeter this weekend as the neighborhood hosts Chicago's inaugural Cookie Market on Sunday, December 14. The festive fundraiser, organized by Cookies for Kids' Cancer, will transform Christmas Club (3460 N Clark St) into a paradise for dessert lovers while raising vital funds for pediatric cancer research.

The one-day event brings together 40 of Chicago's top pastry talents, including nationally recognized chefs like Gale Gand and Mindy's Bakery alongside local favorites such as Del Sur and Cafe Yaya. Running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the market offers attendees the chance to sample confections before selecting two dozen hand-picked cookies to take home. "After participating in fundraisers supporting Cookies for Kids Cancer in NYC, I knew I needed to help expand their reach to my hometown Chicago," explains Jenny McCoy, pastry chair of the event. The organization has funded more than $23 million for cutting-edge research at leading hospitals, including Lurie Children's Hospital, through community-driven events like this one.

Wrigleyville residents and visitors looking for a heartwarming way to celebrate the season are encouraged to attend this sweet combination of holiday cheer and philanthropy. General admission tickets ($35) and VIP options ($47) are available online, with a special commemorative silver tin option (

00) that includes two dozen cookies and an OXO spatula for those unable to attend in person. The Cookie Market adds another unique attraction to the neighborhood's festive landscape, complementing the Christkindlmarket at Gallagher Way and the area's numerous holiday-themed venues.
