University Village Little Italy residents are in for a festive treat this Saturday, December 13, as the inaugural Taylor Street Holiday Market opens along the neighborhood's historic cultural corridor. Organized by the University Village Association, this new seasonal event will showcase more than 25 local vendors offering unique holiday gifts, seasonal treats, and Italian specialty items.

The market will feature beloved neighborhood establishments including Conte Di Savoia, Tuscany on Taylor, and several Taylor Street restaurants serving up holiday specialties. Visitors can shop while enjoying live music performances, complimentary hot chocolate, and special holiday displays. The festivities coincide with a Christmas concert at the historic Shrine of Our Lady Pompeii, adding to the area's festive atmosphere.

"This market celebrates our neighborhood's rich Italian heritage while supporting our local small businesses during the holiday season," said Maria Rossi of the University Village Association. Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the market from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a tree lighting ceremony scheduled for 5 p.m. Community members can share their market experiences on social media using #TaylorStreetHoliday2025.
