By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near North ·

Near North residents looking to embrace the holiday spirit before Christmas have a perfect opportunity this Friday, December 19, as the Roosevelt University Vocal Ensemble leads the final Holiday Sing-Along of the season at Cloud Gate in Millennium Park. The free event begins at 6 p.m., offering neighbors a chance to gather and raise their voices in seasonal song against the backdrop of Chicago's iconic skyline and the city's magnificent 68-foot Norway spruce Christmas tree.

The sing-along series, organized by Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), has become a cherished tradition for Near North residents who can easily walk to the festivities from their neighborhood. Participants will receive complimentary songbooks at the event, with large-print versions available, and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided to ensure the celebration is accessible to everyone. The magical setting with holiday lights reflecting off the shining surface of The Bean creates a picture-perfect Chicago winter experience.

Near North community members planning to attend are encouraged to make a full evening of the celebration by arriving early to enjoy ice skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink (reservations required) or warming up with seasonal comfort food and festive beverages at the Millennium Hall restaurant, which has been transformed into a cozy winter retreat for the holidays. The sing-along offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbors while participating in one of Chicago's most beloved seasonal traditions.
