Maplewood Brewing Secures
.5 Million TIF Support for Logan Square Production Facility Expansion

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Logan Square ·

Maplewood Brewing Co.'s planned acquisition and improvement of its Logan Square production facility has received a significant boost as Mayor Brandon Johnson proposed a

.5 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) loan to City Council on December 10. The brewery and distillery, which has called Logan Square home since its founding in 2014, plans to invest $3.9 million to purchase its current property at 2717 N. Maplewood Ave. and implement improvements that would double its production capacity.

The project, made possible by the low-interest, 10-year loan from the Addison South TIF district, promises to retain 35 positions while adding five new full-time jobs to the community. Maplewood has already expanded its Logan Square space to serve a full food menu alongside its award-winning beer, house cocktails, and THC beverages. This latest development reinforces Logan Square's growing reputation as a craft beverage destination, even as the industry faces challenges elsewhere. Residents and visitors can support this local business expansion by visiting their taproom, where winter-appropriate food and cocktail options are now being served perfect for the holiday season.
