Southwest Collective Leads Community Engagement as Archer Heights' Streets Transform

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·

The Southwest Collective, a vibrant community organization based in Archer Heights, is driving neighborhood engagement as the area's street improvement projects continue this December. The organization, run by local residents Jamie Groth Searle and Dixon Galvez-Searle, has been actively facilitating community conversations and providing educational resources about the ongoing infrastructure enhancements along Archer Avenue.

"We're trying to make it so that everyone can use the street, not just people behind one set of wheels, but people who operate multiple sets of wheels: a wheelchair, a stroller, a scooter, a bike, or a car," explains Groth Searle. The Southwest Collective has been instrumental in creating and distributing informative "Archer for Everybody" graphics that help residents understand the safety improvements being implemented. Their website, swcollective.org, offers detailed information about the project which has incorporated feedback from over 500 residents during years of community outreach.

Residents interested in learning more about the Collective's community initiatives or how to get involved with their outreach programs can visit their website or follow them on social media. The organization continues to welcome neighborhood participation as they work to create more inclusive public spaces throughout Archer Heights.
