Archer Park Launches New Winter Youth Program Series for Archer Heights Families

Archer Heights families have a new reason to celebrate this winter as Archer Park unveils its highly anticipated Winter Youth Program Series beginning January 7, 2026. The program, which will run each Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5pm through March 11, offers local children engaging after-school activities in a supervised, supportive environment.

The 14-acre community hub, located in the heart of Archer Heights, has designed the weekly sessions to provide much-needed recreational opportunities during the coldest months of the year. "This program builds on our commitment to serve families year-round with accessible activities that promote both physical activity and creative expression," explained a park representative. The series complements the park's existing amenities, which include an interactive water spray feature, athletic fields, and a recently renovated playground that has become a neighborhood favorite.

Archer Heights residents interested in registering their children can visit the Chicago Park District website or stop by the park's field house at 4901 S. Kilbourn Avenue. Registration is now open with limited spots available. The Archer Heights Civic Association encourages neighborhood families to take advantage of this winter offering and stay connected with other community events throughout the season.
