Trader Joe's Coming to Jefferson Park in 2026, Bringing New Grocery Option to Northwest Side

Jefferson Park residents will soon have a new shopping destination as plans for a Trader Joe's store have been announced for the neighborhood. According to Alderman Gardiner, the popular grocery chain will purchase a 1.4-acre parcel in Jefferson Park with construction expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The new store will replace an existing 22,500-square-foot building on a site bordering Foster and Higgins Avenues. "By adding a Trader Joe's to our Jefferson Park, we will now have an anchor store that will help attract more business and residents to our community," Gardiner said. The development marks a significant win for the community after residents consistently named Trader Joe's as a desired business for the area during community feedback sessions.

This will be the first Trader Joe's on Chicago's Far Northwest Side, bringing the chain's unique grocery experience to Jefferson Park residents who previously had to travel to other neighborhoods.
