Andersonville Launches 'Säg Hej' Campaign for January 2026, Bringing Swedish Warmth to Winter Shopping
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Andersonville is embracing its Swedish roots this winter with the return of the neighborhood-wide 'Säg Hej' (Say Hello) campaign running January 1-31, 2026. The month-long celebration invites residents and visitors to connect with local businesses during the post-holiday season, when Chicago's cold temperatures typically lead to decreased foot traffic.
The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce organized this initiative to support the district's diverse collection of independently owned establishments that have earned the neighborhood its reputation as the 'Shop Local Capital of Chicago.' Participating businesses will offer special promotions, host mini-events, and create unique winter-themed experiences throughout the month. The campaign builds upon the success of previous years while incorporating new elements for 2026, including expanded participation from businesses along Clark Street and beyond.
Community members are encouraged to pick up a copy of the 2025 Andersonville Neighborhood Guide from the Chamber office at 1554 W Hollywood to discover all participating locations. Residents can also look forward to February events following Säg Hej, including the Coffee & Cocoa Crawl on February 1 and the Great Andersonville Puzzle Exchange on February 2, continuing the neighborhood's tradition of creating engaging winter activities that bring the community together.
