.5 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) loan to support Maplewood Brewing Co.'s expansion plans. The brewery and distillery, a neighborhood fixture since 2014, will use the funds toward their $3.9 million investment to purchase their current location at 2717 N. Maplewood Ave. and implement improvements that will double production capacity. The project represents a major commitment to Logan Square's growing reputation as a craft beverage destination. With the low-interest, 10-year loan provided through the Addison South TIF district, Maplewood will retain 35 existing positions and create five new full-time jobs, further strengthening the local economy. The expansion continues a trend of craft beverage growth in the neighborhood, which is already home to other popular establishments like Pilot Project Brewing on Milwaukee Avenue.
Neighborhood residents and craft beverage enthusiasts can look forward to increased production from one of the area's pioneering breweries. The expansion underscores Logan Square's ongoing development as a hub for local artisanal businesses, with community leaders pointing to such investments as vital to maintaining the neighborhood's distinctive character and economic vitality.
