Chamberlain University Transforms Former WMS Industries Campus in Avondale

Avondale's riverfront is welcoming a major educational institution as Chamberlain University establishes its new Chicago campus at the former WMS Industries headquarters. The nursing school has leased 75,000 square feet at the Riverview at Roscoe complex, bringing new life to the property acquired by Baum Revision in 2020.

The campus transformation, located at 2718 W. Roscoe near the Chicago River, represents a significant investment in Avondale's future. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our mission of cultivating extraordinary healthcare heroes in Chicago's beautiful Avondale community," said Dr. Simendea Clark, Chamberlain University Chicago's campus president. The riverfront location features amenities including a rooftop patio with a fire pit and indoor recreational facilities, while being conveniently situated near the 312 RiverRun bike and pedestrian bridge.

33rd Ward Alderman Rossana Rodriguez expressed enthusiasm about the development, stating, "We are excited to have this space finally occupied by an educational institution that will be preparing nurses in a time of such great need." Avondale residents can look forward to increased activity along the riverfront as the campus prepares to welcome students, further enhancing the neighborhood's reputation as a dynamic community that successfully balances tradition with innovative growth.
