Archer Heights Library Launches 'Spice Club' Program to Celebrate Culinary Diversity

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·

The Archer Heights Library is spicing up community engagement this February with the launch of an innovative 'Spice Club' program. Beginning February 9th, residents can visit the library's Adult Reference Desk to pick up specially curated spice kits featuring cumin, complete with recipes and educational materials highlighting the spice's cultural and historical significance.

This creative initiative celebrates the neighborhood's rich cultural diversity while encouraging residents to explore global cuisines. The program runs throughout February with kits available on multiple dates, including February 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The library continues to serve as a vital community hub, offering additional February programming including a new Crime Book Club, craft workshops, and family story time celebrating Lunar New Year on February 19th.

Archer Heights residents interested in participating can simply stop by the library at 5055 S. Archer Avenue during program hours to pick up their free spice kit while supplies last. The initiative aligns perfectly with what neighbors value most about the area – its diversity, walkability, and strong sense of community connection.
