By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Rogers Park ·
Rogers Park residents will soon enjoy enhanced nature education opportunities as the Sam Leone Beach Park Nature Center at 1222 W. Touhy Avenue receives significant upgrades. The project, identified as part of Chicago's Community Challenge initiative, aims to transform the lakefront space into a vibrant environmental learning hub for neighborhood families and visitors.
The upgrades include expanded educational exhibits, improved accessibility features, and enhanced outdoor programming spaces designed to connect community members with Lake Michigan's ecosystem. The Rogers Park Business Alliance has been working closely with the Chicago Park District to ensure the renovations reflect community priorities and create meaningful nature engagement opportunities for residents of all ages.
Rogers Park residents interested in learning more about the Nature Center improvements or volunteering for future programming can contact the Rogers Park Business Alliance at 773-508-5885 or visit their office at 1448 W. Morse Avenue. Community input sessions regarding the final design elements are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
