Archer Heights Library Launches New Digital Art Workshop Series for Community Youth

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·

The Archer Heights Library is expanding its creative programming this February with the launch of a new Digital Art Workshop series aimed at neighborhood youth. The initiative, beginning February 20, 2026, will provide local teens with hands-on experience in digital design, photography editing, and animation techniques using the library's computer lab facilities.

This new program builds on the library's growing role as a creative hub for the Archer Heights community. Located at 5055 S. Archer Avenue, the library recently hosted the Touch Gift Foundation's Digital Learning Lab in January and served as an information session venue for the Individual Artists Program (IAP), connecting local artists with grant opportunities. The Digital Art Workshop series represents the library's commitment to expanding accessible arts education in the neighborhood.

"We're excited to offer this new creative outlet for our young community members," said the program coordinator. Residents interested in registering their teens for the free workshops can sign up at the library's Adult Reference Desk or call for more information. The program will run every Saturday afternoon through April, with completed projects to be featured in a special community digital art showcase at the library this spring.
