Nashville's Hottest Chicken Just Landed in Wrigleyville: Hattie B's Opens Its First Illinois Location Today
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wrigleyville ·
Wrigleyville's dining scene just got a serious kick of heat. Hattie B's Hot Chicken — the beloved Nashville-based chain with a cult following across the South — officially opened its first-ever Illinois location today, Thursday, February 26, at 3649 N. Clark St. at Gallagher Way, right next to Wrigley Field. It marks the brand's 16th restaurant overall and its first foothold in the Midwest, a milestone that has Chicago foodies buzzing.
The new spot is no hole-in-the-wall: the 3,265-square-foot restaurant boasts a 70-seat indoor dining room and a 55-seat outdoor patio, complete with retractable walls and windows for a breezy indoor-outdoor vibe. The design leans into its new home with a neon-lit ivy wall and decorative neon chickens sporting Chicago Cubs hats — a cheeky nod to the neighborhood. On the menu: Hattie B's signature hot chicken sandwiches, bone-in and tender plates loaded with a fiery blend of ghost, habanero, and cayenne peppers, plus classic Southern sides and frozen drinks. To celebrate opening day, the first 100 guests in line will score a limited-edition Wrigleyville tote bag packed with branded merch.
And this is just the beginning for Hattie B's in Chicago — two more locations are planned for River North and Wicker Park by early 2027. For now, Wrigleyville gets to be the first to dig in. Stop by 3649 N. Clark St. today and be part of history — just maybe bring a glass of water.
