Galewood Park's Winter Programming Finale Is Here — Free Senior Events and Youth Activities Run Through Mid-March

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Galewood ·

With spring just around the corner, Galewood Park is making the most of its final weeks of winter programming — and there's still time to join in. The Chicago Park District's 5729 W. Bloomingdale Ave. fieldhouse is buzzing with free and low-cost activities running through mid-March 2026, giving residents of all ages a reason to get out of the house before the season turns.

Seniors 60 and up can enjoy free weekly Bingo every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. through March 18, while Chair Exercise continues every Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. through March 19 — both at no cost. Younger residents haven't been left out either: the park's fieldhouse keeps kids ages 6–12 engaged with Sports Club, Kids' Fitness, and Homework Time, while teens can tap into the Game Room and Teen Club. Adult programming rounds out the schedule with kickboxing and step aerobics classes for those looking to shake off the winter chill.

Galewood Park's fieldhouse has long served as a vital community anchor — a welcoming space for neighbors across generations to connect, stay active, and build friendships. As winter programming wraps up, spring drop-in camp and warmer-weather outdoor offerings on the park's basketball courts, walking path, and softball field will soon be on deck. Stop by the fieldhouse or visit the Chicago Park District website to register for remaining sessions and be the first to hear about spring 2026 programming.
