Andersonville Kicks Off March with Purim Joy — and a Spring Full of Can't-Miss Events
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Andersonville ·
Andersonville rang in March with a burst of family-friendly celebration this past Sunday as the neighborhood hosted its annual Purim Carnival at Bramble Arts Loft, 5545 N. Clark St. The festive morning opened with a kid-powered performance of the Purim story by the children of Emanuel Congregation, followed by a lively lineup of crafts, stories, and hands-on activities from local Chicago organizations. Families noshed on sweet hamantaschen, made their own goodie bags, and cooled off with snow cones from Windy City Shaved Ice — all with costumes enthusiastically encouraged. The event was made possible by sponsors Emanuel Congregation, JCC Chicago, Chicago Jewish Alliance, and Camp Ben Frankel, underscoring just how beautifully Andersonville's diverse communities show up for one another.
Meanwhile, North Side residents can look ahead to an incredibly packed spring calendar courtesy of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. Andersonville Restaurant Week returns March 15–29, giving neighbors two full weeks to explore the corridor's independent dining gems at special prices. Hot on its heels, the beloved InSidewalk Sale runs March 27–29, the perfect opportunity to score deals from Clark Street's one-of-a-kind shops. Further down the road, the Spring Wine Walk on May 17 and the iconic Midsommarfest June 12–14 round out a season worth savoring.
