Spring Is Almost Here: Avondale Park Flings Open Registration for New Season of Programs
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Avondale ·
Winter's grip on Avondale is loosening, and the Chicago Park District is making it official. Avondale Park is gearing up for its spring programming season, with online registration opening on Monday, March 9 — just days away — followed by in-person registration on March 14 for any remaining spots. The season runs from March 30 through June 7, giving neighborhood families plenty of warm-weather fun to look forward to.
Located near the Kennedy Expressway north of Belmont Avenue, Avondale Park packs an impressive lineup into its 1.24 acres. The spring roster includes after-school programs for kids ages 6–12 running Tuesday through Saturday, with activities spanning fitness, flag football, basketball, arts & crafts, track & field, and volleyball. And for families with aspiring gymnasts, the park's dedicated gymnastics center — one of only nine in the entire Chicago Park District — offers instruction for everyone from beginners to advanced competitors year-round.
With so much on offer and registration opening in just a few days, now is the time to lock in your spot. Head to the Chicago Park District website on March 9 at 9:00 a.m. to register online, or visit Avondale Park in person starting March 14. Spring in Avondale is shaping up to be busier — and better — than ever.
