Curie High School Students Hit Broadway (Well, Almost): Archer Heights Teens Experience Phantom and Hell's Kitchen Live
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Archer Heights ·
Archer Heights students got a taste of the spotlight this winter — from the audience. Students at Curie Metro High School recently attended live performances of two marquee Broadway productions, *The Phantom of the Opera* and the Grammy-winning musical *Hell's Kitchen*, as part of a school enrichment experience that's generating buzz in the neighborhood.
According to Chicago Public Schools' official community newsletter, both productions featured former students, making the outings especially meaningful for Curie's tight-knit school community. For a school already celebrated for its fine and performing arts programs and career and technical education pathways, seeing alumni on a professional stage is exactly the kind of real-world inspiration that keeps young artists dreaming big. Curie — named after the famed scientist Marie Curie and located right in the heart of Archer Heights — has long been a magnet for students across the Southwest Side who are serious about the arts.
It's a proud moment for a neighborhood that has consistently invested in its young people. If Curie's student artists have you inspired, come see their creativity up close: the school's performing arts department hosts showcases throughout the spring semester. Keep an eye on the Curie High School website and the Archer Heights Library bulletin board at 5055 S. Archer Avenue for upcoming event dates — and cheer on the next generation of Archer Heights talent.
