Wrigleyville's Food Scene Is Leveling Up: New Ballpark Bites Debut and a Women's Sports Bar Is Coming to Clark Street
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wrigleyville ·
Wrigleyville's culinary momentum is showing no signs of slowing down. Just days before Opening Day, the Chicago Cubs pulled back the curtain on a bold new ballpark menu for the 2026 season. The Taste of Wrigley Field event, held at the Home Plate Room on March 20, gave food lovers a first look at the creative spread fans can expect at the Friendly Confines this year. Highlights include the Bao Wow Dog — a beef hot dog on a bao bun loaded with tempura short peppers, Fresno peppers, and sriracha aioli — and the Double Diamond Waffle Fries, topped with braised beef short rib, bacon, mushrooms, fried onions, and fontina cheese sauce. For the sweet tooth crowd, Chicken & Churros with ancho syrup and strawberries rounds out a menu designed to match the energy of a big-game day.
But the neighborhood buzz doesn't stop at Wrigley's gates. Wrigleyville is set to welcome its first-ever women's sports bar, Level Sporting Club, coming to 3343 N. Clark St. Founder Clarissa Flores — a former Northwestern University basketball player and Chicago native — is teaming with notable investors and a seasoned chef to bring the concept to life, with an opening targeted for late April or early May. As Flores puts it, "Women's sports will always be at the forefront and the priority. They will always take center stage over everything else."
With Opening Day on March 26 just four days away and Level Sporting Club on the horizon, there's never been a better time to be a Wrigleyville neighbor. Stop by the ballpark this week and get a taste of what's coming — and keep an eye on Level Sporting Club's social channels for renovation updates and their grand opening date.
