Mark Your Calendars: Galewoodstock 2026 Gets an Official Date — and Galewood Park's Spring Programming Is Already Underway
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Galewood ·
Galewood's community calendar just got a whole lot more exciting. The neighborhood's beloved annual music festival, Galewoodstock, now has an official date locked in for 2026: Saturday, August 22nd. Listed in the Illinois Festival Guide as one of the Chicago area's marquee summer events, the family-friendly festival — hosted by Galewood Neighbors, Inc. — brings together live music, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, and kids' activities for a full day of community celebration. With last year's event drawing over 2,000 attendees, August 22nd is already a date worth circling in red.
But you don't have to wait until August to get your Galewood community fix. Galewood Park, the neighborhood's 2.30-acre green space tucked between Central and Austin Avenues, has kicked off its spring programming lineup — and it's packed. The Chicago Park District fieldhouse is running youth-focused activities including tumbling, Sports Club, Kids' Fitness, and Homework Time, plus a Spring Drop-in Camp for kids ages 6–12. Teen Club, Senior Citizens Club, and adult fitness classes like kickboxing and step aerobics round out the offerings for residents of all ages.
Whether you're a parent looking for structured activities for your kids this spring or a music lover already counting down to August, Galewood is delivering on all fronts.
