Mark Your Calendars: Little Italy's Beloved Festa Italiana Is Returning to Taylor Street This August
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/University Village Little Italy ·
As spring settles over University Village Little Italy and the Taylor Street corridor hums back to life, the neighborhood has a major summer highlight to look forward to: Chicago's Little Italy Festa on Taylor Street is gearing up to return in August 2026 — and early buzz is already building among residents and visitors alike.
Produced by Ron Onesti of Onesti Entertainment — who was actually born on Taylor Street — the Festa is a four-day celebration that transforms the heart of Little Italy into a full-scale Italian cultural experience. Held at 1431 W. Taylor Street, the event features five stages of live entertainment, mouth-watering food from award-winning neighborhood restaurants, imported Italian merchandise, cultural exhibits, statues, fountains, carnival games, and family-friendly activities from Thursday through Sunday. Last year's event ran August 14–17, with doors open evenings on weekdays and all-day on the weekend — and 2026 is shaping up to follow the same beloved format.
For a neighborhood that wears its Italian-American heritage proudly every single day, the Festa is the crown jewel of the summer calendar — a reminder of the generations of immigrants who built this community and the vibrant, welcoming spirit that defines it still. Whether you're a lifelong Taylor Street regular or discovering Little Italy for the first time, this is one summer tradition worth circling on your calendar. Stay tuned to @SocialhoodChicago for date confirmations as they're announced, and share your Festa memories and excitement using #LittleItalyFesta and #TaylorStreetChicago!
